Commutative Law of Addition

Commutative Law of Addition- The Commutative Law of Addition states that any two real numbers may be added together in any order resulting in the same outcome.

a + b = b + a

This is very easy to check for yourself:

4 + 8 = 12 and 8 + 4 = 12
