Perimeter of a Rectangle Formula
P = 2L + 2W
where P stands for perimeter, L stands for length and W width

Again, the perimeter is the measured distance around the outside of the rectangle. Think of it as if the above rectangle were a football field and you walked the white chalk lines along the side and end lines. The perimeter would be the distance you would walk starting from one point and walking around the entire field and returning to the same point.
